Better Impact is a small but global team who help non-profits and charities to engage and manage volunteers, donors and members more effectively and with greater efficiency. Our head office is in Hamilton Ontario Canada and we have small offices in Chicago, Adelaide and London, and are soon to open on on the west coast.

Trainer, Consultant and Support Agent – West Coast

We are currently looking to open a west coast office in the USA and have narrowed it down to either San Diego or Seattle.

What the Job Entails

  • Help clients and potential clients get the most out of our software by answering questions through the chat system integrated into our software, email, telephone and web based meetings.
  • Assist members through their transition in implementing Volunteer Impact in their organizations through coaching and sharing of professional expertise
  • Assist in the onboarding process of new members, including account configutration
  • Potentially travel to conduct onsite training on our software with our members
  • Work with the rest of the Member Experience Team to create and implement new processes and process improvements that increase our efficiencies and make our members even happier than they are today

Requirements to Succeed in the Job

  • experience in volunteer management or donor management
  • experience training others one-on-one and in a group environment
  • the confidence, work ethic and ability to prioritize to get things done without significant supervision
  • a friendly attitude that comes across in the way you communicate in person, over the phone, and electronically
  • the ability to communicate clearly with proper grammar and spelling in English
  • demonstrable organizational skills
  • typing skills to accurately type at a minimum of 40 words per minute
  • competent with MS Word, Excel and Outlook
  • an interest in learning (we add to our software regularly

Bonus Skills

  • bi-lingual in Spanish (to assist us in growing into Latin America)
  • experience with Volunteer Impact software or Volgistics

.NET Backend Engineer - Hamilton, Ontario

Required experience:

  • Solid understanding of enterprise-level application and database design
  • Strong programming experience with .NET technologies.
  • Extensive experience working with SQL Server (performance tuning, clustering/always on implementation, troubleshooting)
  • Proven experience implementing a continuous integration / deployment pipeline
  • Able to perform administrative tasks in Windows Server / IIS.
