What is the VMHC?
The VMHC is a unique hybrid event designed specifically for those working in volunteer engagement. Unlike traditional conferences, the VMHC offers a dynamic setup where expert speakers are streamed live over two days, providing real-time insight into current trends, challenges, and innovations in the volunteer sector. What is a host site?
- These local gathering spots—hosted by organizations or companies—bring together groups of volunteer managers and professionals to watch the broadcast together, collaborate in facilitated workgroups, and engage in meaningful discussions with their peers. This hybrid format blends the accessibility of virtual participation with the connection and energy of in-person interaction.

Can I attend as an individual?
Yes! Individual registration opens on June 2nd, 2025. We encourage you to join a local host site if there a convenient location near you. If not, you can attend virtually. The cost to attend virtually is $50.

If I apply as a speaker, will my travel expenses be covered?
Yes! Your travel and accommodations will be covered by us. We welcome your application to become a speaker. The deadline for submission is April 11, 2025.

What is the theme this year?
This year’s Hybrid Conference theme is “Show Them the Money.” The theme is designed to empower you, the volunteer engagement professional, to confidently showcase the tangible financial impact of your work. We know that volunteers create impact beyond dollars, and we want you to help your leadership truly understand the tangible financial value your program contributes to the organization.

Executive Director
Dr. Sarah Mackey, CVA, CFRE, is a nonprofit leader with 20+ years of experience driving impact through strategic growth, fundraising, and volunteer engagement. She leads Women in Security and Privacy (WISP), expanding opportunities for underrepresented professionals, and teaches nonprofit management and social justice at the university level.

Andrea Hill, MPA, CVA, CFRE, ACNP
Chief Development and Partnerships Officer
Andrea is a certified nonprofit professional and fundraising executive with over 20 years of experience in capacity building, volunteer management, and resource development. She serves as Chief Development and Partnerships Officer for Tennessee Nonprofit Network, building cross-sector partnerships that drive impact across the state.

Tony Goodrow
Founder
Tony Goodrow is the founder and former CEO of Better Impact, where he turned his passion for supporting volunteer-driven organizations into the creation of Volunteer Impact software. Since 2001, he has helped leaders of volunteers worldwide and spoken at global conferences on volunteer management.

Brooke Campbell, CNP, CVA
Director of Community Outreach and Disaster Recovery
Brooke Campbell, CNP, CVA, is Director of Community Outreach and Disaster Recovery at United Way of Greater Houston. She brings extensive experience in volunteer engagement, disaster recovery, and nonprofit training, and has led programs with Volunteer Houston and AmeriCorps.

Executive Director
Rob Jackson is Director of Rob Jackson Consulting Ltd, a consultancy and training company that helps engage and inspire people to bring about change. Rob has over 30 years experience working in the volunteering movement, having held a variety of strategic development and senior management roles that have focused onleading and engaging volunteers. Rob has run his company since 2011 working with a wide range of clients in the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Europe, the USA and Canada. Rob is co-author of The Complete Volunteer Management Handbook (DSC, 2012 and2019) and From The Top Down - UK Edition (Energize Inc., 2015).Rob is currently an elected Town Councillor for the Arnoldfield Ward in Grantham, UK.
