Tracking the Traffic on Your Public Pages

Step 1: Set Up a Google Account

  1. Visit to create a google account
  2. Fill out the form and click “Next Step”. Including your mobile number will help secure your account but isn’t required.
  3. You will get a confirmation email in whatever email you provided in the form. Make sure to follow the link in the confirmation email so that your account is confirmed.

Step 2: Set Up Your Google Analytics

  1. Go to the analytics sign up page:
  2. Click the “Sign up” Button
  3. Fill out the form:
    1. Make sure “Website” is selected at the top. Do not select “Mobile app”
    2. Enter your organization name as the “Account Name”
    3. Enter a name to identify your public page. We suggestion something like “{Organization Name} – Public Volunteer Page”
    4. For “Website URL” click on the https:// and change it to https://  then enter “ into the box.
    5. If you would like, you can select an Industry. This helps google generate reports for you.
    6. Select your country / timezone
    7. Check and/or Uncheck any of the data sharing options that you would like to include.
    8. Click the “Get Tracking ID” button!
  4. Read and Agree to the Terms of Service Agreement. Make sure to select your country to get the appropriate service agreement.
  5. After you click “I Accept” you will be brought to your analytics dashboard!  Copy the tracking Id from the centre of the screen and paste that into the “Tracking ID” box in your general settings.
  6. You are all set! Soon your analytics Dashboard will be filled with statistics for you. Consider book marking so you can find your analytics back again later.

Enable Google Analytics in Your Enterprise

  1. Once you have set up Google Analytics, you can enable it in your enterprise by going to Configuration >> Enterprise Settings >> General Settings
  2. Scroll down to the “Google Analytics” section and enter your tracking ID, generated in Step 2 above
  3. Click the [Save] button
Setting up Google Analytics at the enterprise level will only place the analytics information on the enterprise public pages.
