Custom Fields

Search by Custom Fields

  1. Go to: People >> Search (or any other menu option that uses the search feature) – Click here and scroll down for a video on all of step 1.
  2. In the “Module and Status Filters” section, select the desired statuses to include in the search. If you make multiple selections, you can include people that have:
    1. Any of the selected modules and any of the selected statuses
    2. All of the selected modules and any of the selected statuses
  3. In the “Email Filters” section, select the desired option. The default is “Don’t Filter” on email address. This will include all people regardless of whether or not they have an email address.
  4. Click the [Add Search Criteria] button to add other options to your search
  5. Select Custom Fields from the drop-down list.

NOTE:

Only enterprise-level Custom Fields are searchable here.
Visible only if Custom Fields with Yes/No options have been created
  1. Category – Select the Custom Field Category where you expect to find the custom field you want to use
  2. Custom Field – Select the Custom Field you want to use
  3. Match Type – Choose what you would consider a match – Part 1 – E.G. Is equal to Yes, Is equal to No, Is empty, Is not empty
  4. Match Value – Choose what you would consider a match – Part 2 (Yes / No, if “is Equal to” is selected above)
Visible only if date-based Custom Fields have been created
  1. Category – Select the Custom Field Category where you expect to find the custom field you want to use
  2. Custom Field – Select the Custom Field you want to use
  3. Match Type – Choose what you would consider a match – Part 1 – E.G. a date between two dates, a date after a specific date, is an empty field, etc.
  4. Match Value – Choose what you would consider a match – Part 2 – Enter the full date you want to use in the search (or two dates if you are searching for profiles with a date between two dates). By clicking in the date field, you can select a date from the calendar that pops up.
Visible only if numeric Custom Fields have been created
  1. Category – Select the Custom Field Category where you expect to find the custom field you want to use
  2. Custom Field – Select the Custom Field you want to use
  3. Match Type – Choose what you would consider a match – Part 1 – E.G. a number that is greater than some number, equal to some number, any number (not empty), etc.
  4. Match Value – Type in the number(s) you want to use as a comparison (unless you are choosing “Is Empty” or “Is not Empty” in step 3)
Visible only if text-based Custom Fields have been created
  1. Category – Select the Custom Field Category where you expect to find the custom field you want to use
  2. Custom Field – Select the Custom Field you want to use
  3. Match Type – Choose what you would consider a match – E.G. contains, is empty, is not empty etc.
  4. Match Value – Type in the text you want to use as a comparison (unless you are choose “Is Empty” or “Is not Empty” in step 3)
Visible only if Custom Fields with drop-down lists have been created
  1. Category – Select the Custom Field Category where you expect to find the custom field you want to use
  2. Custom Field – Select the Custom Field you want to use
  3. Match Type – Choose what you would consider a match – E.G. is the same as (Is Equal To), does not equal, is empty, is not empty.
  4. Match Value – Choose what you want to use in the comparison from the drop-down list (unless of course you selected ‘is empty’ or ‘is not empty’ in step 3)
Visible only if Custom Fields for file uploads have been created
  1. Category – Select the Custom Field Category where you expect to find the custom field you want to use
  2. Custom Field – Select the Custom Field you want to use
  3. Match Type – Choose what you would consider a match. Either the profile has a file uploaded to this field or it hasn’t.
Visible only if Custom Fields with check boxes have been created
  1. Category – Select the Custom Field Category where you expect to find the custom field you want to use
  2. Custom Field – Select the Custom Field you want to use
  3. Match Type – Choose what you would consider a match. There aren’t too many choices here. Either it’s checked or it’s not.
